Welcome to Culture and Critical Analysis  (COM 201/ISM 213). 

This course examines cultural theory and analyzes cultural products and the cultural production process.  It explores the principles and canons of cultural analysis and criticism; culture and science; culture and social interactions; culture, society and the media; language and cultural identity in Africa; race and ethnicity; sexual economy of culture; culture and the Art etc.  Students will investigate popular culture and use various concepts and approaches to investigate the phenomenon of people, society and cultural products within Africa and beyond.
