The course introduces students to research design in Information Science and Media/ Communications.. They are exposed to different research methods, and learn how to formulate, clarify and match research topics with the appropriate method. Topics include the relation between theory and research, techniques of literature review, survey research, questionnaire design, interviewing techniques, observation, content analysis, the case study and experimental design. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the skills to analyse, interpret, write and present quantitative and qualitative data.
